4th of July weekend!

We had a weekend of milestones and memories.  We celebrated my father-in-law turning 60 with a pool party and we welcomed Freedom Danger Fieri, our new Jack Russell puppy, into our family.

A fun day had by all!  Happy 60th Birthday Papa!

For a while now we have been looking for a new dog.  We weren't sure if we wanted to do the whole puppy thing or adopt a dog over the age of 1.  After searching for a year and then seriously searching for a couple of weeks I found a litter of puppies in San Diego that the owners were trying to get rid of.  It was the 4th of July and Anthony and I decided to go down with out the kids in case it wasn't the "perfect" one for us.  We fell in love with 2 of the pups and had a hard time deciding which one if not both.  One is plenty for us.  Freedom has brought so much love and joy into our home.  She is 12 weeks old and still needs to go out in the middle of the night but I have enjoyed taking her out and listening to the owls hoot and feel the warm breeze at such a quite hour and then going back out and listening to the roosters as we watch the sun rise.  The broken sleep pattern is exhausting but totally worth it.

Daisy was very excited to meet the new puppy but Freedom was the apprehensive one giving her a growl.  They have since learned to respect each other and hang out.
